How Bail works
The Bail system is an all or nothing system, You cannot pay bail for certain crimes. If you want to bail you need to pay for all the crimes you commit The person’s original charges prior to bail being paid are to still be entered into the Police Department criminal database. The final price will be set according to the following scale: Every 1 Min is a $2,000 bail price. No rounding, or reducing numbers for the set bail amount.
Jail Time (Min) X $2,000 = Bail Price
Examples :
Robbery (30 Min) X 2,000= $60,000 Bail Price
MANDATORY SENTENCING TIMES
If a detainee is convicted of the following: Murder, Manslaughter, attempted murder, escaping jail, or possession of explosives, they Must serve a mandatory of 45 min! If the detainee is wanted for more than one account of these crimes, they may pay off the other crimes, but must be placed in jail for 45 min. If a detainee is wanted for more than one Mandatory crime, they must pay for all of them and then do the mandatory 45 min.
Example: Detainee is wanted for Manslaughter (x3), Escaping Jail (x1), Attempted manslaughter (x1). The detainee (if wants bail) must pay for all of these crimes via the ticket bail system, and then sit in jail for his/her mandatory 45 min.
Processing
- Place Detainee in Cell
Step
- Explain to the detainee his charges and sentence time.
- Explain to the detainee he has the option to have an attorney if one is available.
If Plead Guilty {fine and send to Jail}
If Plead Not Guilty.
- Check database for flight risk if no flight risk proceed to (2)
- Explain they have 10 min to have someone post bail for them. Once contacted said persons have 10 min to post bail.
- Explain they have to go on lazyarmy.org/larpcourt to schedule a court date and have 24 hours IRL to do so.\
- If no bail. fine and send to jail and explain they have to take it to court to plead their case. If found not guilty they will be refund time and fine.
Once the bail bondsman has arrived at the Police Department, The officer will tell them how much money has to be paid for the bail to be paid in full. If they agree, you will give the bail bondsman a ticket of the said amount. Once the ticket ( Bail) has been paid, the detainee will be put in jail for a sentence time of 10 min. That way the detainee will lose his licenses etc. After the bail has been paid, escort the detainee up to the Correctional facility, and jail them for 10 Min.
Enter the detainee into the database like normal, and put the bail amount into the database under the “Bail” tab. Giving Bail for a suspect is an officer.
